A few hints and tips
Visas and travel documents: You must carry all travel documents (such as passports and visas) required for all ports of call. We recommend that your passport expiry date is not less than six months after the voyage termination date. We regret that no refunds will be given if incorrect travel documents affect any part of the cruise.
Children: Children revel in shipboard life – specially-trained staff offer daily activity programmes for toddlers, children and teens. From the moment they step on board, your children will have the time of their lives – ensuring that you can enjoy yours! There are also plenty of family activities, including sports, games, entertainment and exciting excursions.
Cabins: Details of our selected cabins are featured in the brochure, but we can also book other categories for you – including interconnecting and larger cabins suitable for families.
Clothing: Days on board are casual – all you need is sports or resort wear. Low-heeled shoes are best for deck activities and walking shoes for shore excursions. Eveningwear depends on the occasion: casual evenings require a sundress or slacks and blouse for ladies and a sports shirt and trousers for men. For smarter occasions, a dress or trouser suit for women and jacket for men are recommended. For formal events, a cocktail dress for ladies and suit and tie, or tuxedo for men is customary.
Baggage: All baggage must fit in the cabins – there is no provision for storage in the ship’s hold. We recommend using bags with wheels as you may have a long walk to your cabin and there is limited or no porter service available.
Activities: There is a daily programme of activities running from early morning until late evening, typically including exercise classes, sports activities, deck games, educational classes and dance demonstrations.
Dining: Cruise ships are famous for great food. Each ship has at least one casual and one formal dining option, with individual seating arrangements. Whilst we cannot guarantee any seating request, please let us know your preference when you book.
Shore excursions: With ancient monuments, great cities and towns, gorgeous beaches, excellent shopping and every activity from snorkelling to horse riding – there’s a shore excursion for every interest.
Sports and leisure: It’s easy to stay in shape aboard – you can go jogging on deck, swim in the pool, use the fitness centre or join the aerobics classes. For a leisurely start to the day try a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure in the spa.
Entertainment: Meet new friends, watch a comedian or a Broadway-style show, dance the night away or simply watch a film in your cabin or laze on the deck gazing at the stars.
Medical matters: A physician and nurse are available 24 hours a day, their services being subject to a fee. Please carry any medication you require with you.
Tipping: Tipping is customary on most ships – guidelines will be given on board. A suggested charge per passenger for dining and stateroom personnel will be automatically added to your shipboard account. Should you wish to make any adjustments please contact the purser’s desk.
