Lake District
Full-day train excursion from London
This enthralling train excursion takes you far away from the busy streets and hectic lifestyle of London to the peace and tranquillity of Cumbria.
After meeting in front of the main ticket office at Euston station, your day starts with a relaxing train journey, travelling past old market towns and cities built during the Industrial Revolution, to the spectacular Lakeland landscapes of England’s far north-west.
On arrival at Oxenholme you will be met by our guide who will be your escort for the tour of the Lake District. We start with a boat cruise, before visiting the picturesque mediaeval village of Hawkshead, an enchanting combination of whitewashed houses, cobbled streets and narrow alleyways.
En route through the Langdale Valley you will see the magnificent views from Tarn How, one of the Lake District’s most picturesque spots.
Afternoon tea is provided at the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’, a magical recreation of the books complete with the sights, sounds and smells of the countryside, before returning to the station in time for the evening train back to London.
This excursion operates in summer only.
