This excursion is the ideal introduction to this enthralling city. We start where Paris itself started, on the Ile de la Cité, where Notre Dame stands, one of the most magnificent examples of Gothic ecclesiastical architecture in all of France, before heading into the trendy Marais district, which still retains its pre-revolutionary architecture.
We then visit the Latin Quarter, home to a lively mix of shops and restaurants. See the Basilica de Sacré Coeur, with its white Byzantine cupolas. Discover picturesque Montmartre, the city’s traditional entertainment quarter, symbolised by the windmill sails of the Moulin Rouge. We then move on to visit the Louvre, the largest museum in the world. The museum’s vast collection contains treasures such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
From there we go to the Palace of Versailles, the most beautiful of all France’s chateaux. Although no longer used as a royal residence it still retains its glory. Accompanied by your driver-guide, you will see the magnificent park and the Grand Trianon. Inside, with the aid of an audio guide, you will see the State Apartments, including the glorious Hall of Mirrors and the King and Queen’s Apartments.
This excursion operates daily except for Mondays and includes pick-up and drop-off at your hotel, entrance fees and English-speaking guide.
