Film making in India has a long history. The first short film was made in 1897; the first feature film – ‘King Harishchandra’ was released in 1913; and the first talkie ‘Alam Ara’, produced was released in 1931.
Nicknamed Bollywood, a name combined from Bombay and Hollywood, the hub of this vast industry is centered in Mumbai.
Our exciting tour takes you behind the scenes at one of the most famous studios where you will see a film or television serial being shot. As well as providing a fascinating glimpse of life behind the lens and the chance to see, first hand the meticulous planning and coordination that goes into each production. You may also be lucky enough to see some of Bollywood’s greatest stars.
After visiting the sets, we will have lunch in the studio restaurant before visiting a post-production or a visual effects studio to learn how dubbing, editing, sound and special effects are created and how the use of the very latest technology contributes to the final production and why this has become a multi-million dollar industry.
Note: There is no guarantee that you will see any movie stars during the tour as this will depend on the schedule for the day at the studio.
